There are a lot of load testing utilities. Here's a pretty
comprehensive list:

I've used Siege, Webhammer, Loadrunner (not free), and I think
WebAvalanche. I'd start with Siege and see if that works for you. If
not, there's plenty of other stuff to try on that list.
I believe JMeter used to be the ApacheBench tools, but it morphed into
a bigger suite, so they changed the name.
