Amen to that. I left prototype/scriptaculous for the same reason:
rather than provide an enhanced calls in their own namespace, it
redefines javascript itself. When mixed with legacy code, unintended
results ensue.
Also, I couldn't stand to type scriptaculous any more. Meh.
